Home Safety Assessment

Feeling like you are no longer safe in your own home can be very discouraging. A home safety assessment is the most common type of assessment by an Occupational Therapist.

OT4Life will conduct a home safety assessment which can include the following :

  • safe entry/exit into the home
  • safe walking space in the home (flooring and rugs/furniture)
  • stair safety
  • assessment of transfers and mobility in every room of the house (including footwear)
  • fall prevention
  • lighting
  • accessibility
  • recommendations for home modifications for aging/living in place, including collaborations with designers and renovators/contractors
  • OT4Life can provide assessments for the new BC RAHA program (Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations)
